The Government has received applications from eight telecom companies, including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communication, Tata Communication, Tata Teleservices, Vodafone Essar, Etisalat DB, Tikona and Qualcomm, to bid for 3G and broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum to be auctioned starting April 8.
