VA Tech Wabag Limited (Wabag) is entering in the capital markets with an initial public offering (IPO) of up to 3.7 mn equity shares of Rs. 5 each at a price band of Rs. 1,230–1,310 to raise up to Rs. 4.7 bn. Promoted by Electrosteel Castings (ECL), Electrosteel Steel is setting up a 2.2-million tonne per annum (MTPA) integrated steel and ductile iron (DI) spun pipes project in Jharkhand, India. ECL has obtained mining blocks of iron ore and coking coal in Jharkhand and has set up Electrosteel Steel for implementing the integrated steel and DI pipe plant.
Orient Green Power Company IPO Analysis
Orient Green Power Company (OGPL) develops and operates renewable energy based power plants. The company, which began its operation in April 2008 by acquisition and operation of the 8-MW Kotputli biomass power plant in Rajasthan, has now grown to become one of the largest independent operator and developer of renewable energy based power plants in India on installed capacity with an aggregate generation capacity of 213.03 MW.
Sensex regains 20000; Nifty above 6000
The key benchmark indices rose for the third straight day with BSE Sensex and the S&P CNX Nifty closing above the psychological marks 20000 and 6000 respectively. Market scaled 32 month closing highs today. Firm global stocks, foreign institutional investors' buying spree and robust Q2 advance tax payments from frontline companies underpinned sentiment. The BSE 30-share Sensex rose 95.45 points or 0.48%, off close to 90 points from the day's high and up close to 140 points from the day's low.

Market set for buoyant start on strong global cues
The market is headed for an upbeat start as Asian markets edged higher after an overnight rally in US markets. Trading of the S&P CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicate that the Nifty could rise 5 points at the opening bell. The key benchmark indices – the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty may hit psychological levels of 20,000 and 6,000 respectively with foreign institutional investors' buying spree and higher Q2 advance tax payments from frontline companies boosting sentiment.

Sensex on 7th heaven...Nifty flirts with 6000
Call it strong economic fundamentals or just liquiditymagic; overseas investors have stepped up their shopping spree in September. TheSensex surged 311 points to close at 19,906. The index hit an intra-day high of19,927 and an intra-day low of 19,445. The NSE Nifty rose 96 points to close at 5,980 after touching a high of 5,990 and a low of 5,885. TheNifty took about 80 trading sessions to travel from 5000 to near 6000 levels.In Nov 2007, the Nifty had taken just 24 sessions to move from 5000 to hit the6000 mark. The Sensex ended August near 18,000.Since then, it has rallied by almost 2000 points in a mere 13 trading days.
