FIIs turn net sellers in equities on Feb. 19
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) turned net sellers in equities worth Rs 289 million on February 19. They bought equities worth Rs 20,483 million and sold equities worth Rs 20,772 million. Till February 19, they have been net buyers in equities worth Rs 4,298 million.
FIIs remain net buyers in the debt segment worth Rs 16,376 million on February 19. They bought debt worth Rs 18,954 million and they sold debt worth Rs 2,578 million. Till February 19 they have been net sellers in debt worth Rs 43,332 million.
Futures turnover rises
Nifty February 2010 futures at premium
Nifty February 2010 futures were at 4,848, at a premium of 3.10 points as compared to the spot closing of 4,844.90. Turnover in NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 92,723.13 crore from Rs 64,858.39 crore on Thursday, 18 February 2010.
The near-month February 2010 derivatives contracts will expire on Thursday, 25 February 2010, a day before the presentation of the Union Budget 2010-11 on Friday, 26 February 2010.
Bharat Heavy Electricals February 2010 futures were at premium at 2,370 compared to the spot closing of 2,365.
Larsen & Toubro February 2010 futures were at a slight discount at 1,475 compared to the spot closing of 1,476.
Suzlon Energy February 2010 futures were near spot price at 70.80 compared to the spot closing of 70.55.
In the cash market, the S&P CNX Nifty lost 42.85 points or 0.88% at 4,844.90.
