Dull finish to a winning week


The Indian markets ended on a dull note on Friday amid choppy trades. The FMCG, IT and select Telecom stocks were under pressure. While, the Realty, Capital Goods and Oil & Gas stocks were among the major gainers. The BSE Small-Cap index ended with slight losses while, the BSE Mid-cap index added 0.2%.



"It was a show of resilience by the Indian markets, benchmark indices managed to buck the global weakness’," says Amar Ambani, Vice President, Research – India Private Clients, IIFL.

The Sensex slipped 53 points to close at 18,402, the index hit an intra-day high of 18,464 and an intra-day low of 18,361. While, NSE Nifty edged lower by 10 points to close at 5,531.
