Asian markets open negative


Asian stocks fell amid mounting concerns over the global economy after calls by a European Central Bank official to maintain stimulus measures.



Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 fell 75.24 points, or 0.82%, to trade at 9,104.14.

Hong Kong`s Hang Seng index declined by 18.57 points, or 0.09%, at 20,963.25.

China`s Shanghai Composite decreased 0.06 points, or 0.00% to trade at 2,642.25.

Taiwan`s Taiex index rose 13.17 points, or 0.17%, to trade at 7,940.48.

South Korea`s Kospi index declined 0.67 points, or 0.04% to trade at 1,774.87.

Singapore`s Straits Times index decreased 10.47 points, or to 0.36% trade at 2,926.01. (7.28 a.m., IST)
