Nifty March 2011 futures below 5,500

Turnover surges

Nifty March 2011 futures were at 5,463, at a premium of 13.35 points over spot closing of 5,449.65. Turnover in NSE's futures & options (F&O) surged to Rs 162054.39 crore from Rs 100877.05 crore on Monday, 14 March 2011.



Bharat Heavy Electricals March 2011 futures were at discount at 1,910, compared with spot closing of 1,914.

Larsen & Toubro March 2011 futures were at a slight premium at 1,527.50, compared with spot closing of 1,526.50.

Reliance Industries March 2011 futures were at 1,036.55, near spot closing of 1,036.

In the cash market, the S&P CNX Nifty plunged 81.85 points, or 1.48% to settle at 5,449.65.
