FIIs continue buying
Inflow of Rs 145.50 crore on 22 July 2009
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 145.50 crore on Wednesday, 22 July 2009, higher than Rs 50.10 crore on Tuesday, 21 July 2009.
FII inflow of Rs 145.50 crore on 22 July 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 2,936.40 crore and gross sales Rs 2,790.90 crore. The BSE Sensex lost 219.37 points or 1.46% at 14,843.12 on that day.
FII inflow in July 2009 totaled Rs 6,569.60 crore (till 22 July 2009). FIIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 3,224.90 crore in June 2009. FII inflow in calendar year 2009 totaled Rs 31,113.80 crore (till 22 July 2009).
There are a total of 1676 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
