Market recovers amid sharp volatility


The market is exhibiting sharp volatility in current trades. After tumbling to a low of 15465 the Sensex has bounced back into positive territory on renewed buying optimism. While the Sensex is now up 76 points at 15664, the Nifty is up 7 points at 4716.

Among the movers of the index, BHEL has soared 3.93% at Rs1780, Tata Steel has added 3.61% at Rs680, ICICI Bank has advanced 2.61% at Rs834 and HDFC has gained 2.53% at Rs2368. Cipla at Rs216.50, L&T at Rs2626, Ambuja at Rs120 and Infosys at Rs1476.90 have added 1% each. HUL, however, has shed 2.08% at Rs242.75. Maruti Suzuki has lost 1.60% at Rs732.30 and Satyam Computer has declined 1.48% at Rs422.75. ITC, Bharti, Jaiprakash Associates and Ranbaxy are also trading at lower levels.
